Northcote is a luxury country hotel in the Ribble Valley, known for fine dining, elegant interiors, and a welcoming, contemporary feel. With a Michelin-starred restaurant and beautifully styled guest suites, the property sets a high standard for design and atmosphere.
We were invited to work on key parts of Northcote’s recent refurbishment, bringing fireplace design and installation expertise into new guest spaces and public areas.

As part of Northcote’s expansion and redesign – including the creation of new Garden Lodge Suites, a refreshed reception, and bar areas – the project needed fireplaces that felt both contemporary and a natural fit for the space. The challenge was to deliver solutions that:
Working alongside the design and development team, we supplied and installed a mix of contemporary electric and bespoke solid-fuel solutions.
Each of the Garden Lodge Suites, including seven junior suites and a master suite, had a contemporary electric fire installed. These were carefully finished with either a tailored stone hearth or a sectional border – depending on the room’s interior design and proportions.
In the main reception space, we installed a built-in, black glass wood-burning cassette fire. A steel liner was used as part of the installation, and the final finish included a striking stone and tile chimney breast. To balance and frame the feature, we also created floor-to-ceiling log stores on either side of the fireplace.
