Kalfire: Dutch design meets uncompromising flame quality
Founded in Limburg, Netherlands, in 1981, Kalfire has grown into a fireplace brand sold in over 60 countries, recognised with awards including the Iconic Award and the Silver Novum Design Award. It’s a brand built on a simple idea: that a gas fire’s flame should look every bit as convincing as a real wood fire, whatever the format or room.
Why choose a Kalfire fireplace?
Kalfire brings decades of innovation that few other brands can match, all backed by a family-run company with a truly international reputation.
40+ years of innovation
Kalfire has earned its reputation after four decades of perfecting its signature fireplace style and technology.
Prestige Burner tech
A tall, blazing flame comes straight from the Prestige Burner’s hand-painted logs, not the fuel bed beneath them, for a more convincing gas fire effect.
Variety of formats
Three-sided, corner, tunnel and glass-front formats are available, so yours can span a feature wall, turn a corner or divide two rooms.
Spend less on more
The ECO setting on certain models cuts gas usage by up to 40%, so you can leave it running for longer without it costing as much.

How does a Kalfire installation differ by fuel type?
What your Kalfire installation involves depends on the fuel you choose.
- Gas work in a UK home must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer, and our team arranges that as part of the job. Kalfire’s gas fire models are room-sealed balanced flue appliances, drawing combustion air in from outside and venting back out through the same sealed system. We survey the route to an outside wall or roof before recommending a model, because the route decides which formats are open to you.
- Wood-burning is a solid fuel installation, so we fit the appliance and the flue system to Building Regulations: a flue correctly sized and lined for your model, a hearth built to the required dimensions, enough air reaching the room, and a carbon monoxide alarm. If your property sits in a smoke control area, we confirm your chosen model is approved for burning wood at your address before you order. Councils enforce this locally, and it’s the sort of thing that’s far cheaper to check beforehand than to discover afterwards.
- Electric fires need no flue at all, just a safe electrical connection to current wiring regulations. That opens up rooms a gas or wood fire could never serve.
Kalfire FAQs
The G-Range uses Kalfire’s horizontal 3D burner, while the GP-Range is built around the Prestige Burner with hand-painted ceramic logs. The GP-Range also offers an optional spark generator, giving a more traditional flame picture than the G-Range.
