STOVAX & GAZCO
Stovax & Gazco: British-engineered fires for every fuel
Since 1981, Stovax & Gazco has been shaping how people enjoy a fire at home. From traditional gas fire setups to modern, remote-controlled electric fireplaces, the type of fuel has never been an obstacle. The range runs from traditional cast iron to contemporary frameless, and it’s designed for the way British homes are built. Whether or not you have a chimney, there’s a Stovax & Gazco fire that works for you.
Why choose Stovax & Gazco?
Choose Stovax and Gazco for over four decades of British stove engineering, warranty cover that lasts up to ten years, and a range of fuel options that few manufacturers can match.
Proudly built in Exeter
Stovax & Gazco engineers and builds its products in the South West of the UK, so the same company that made your stove also covers it and supplies the parts.
Years of protection
Your appliance is protected for 10 years, so you’re not paying for repairs on a stove you bought a decade ago.
No excess smoke
The solid fuel range is engineered to exceed Ecodesign air quality standards, and DEFRA-exempt models are available for towns and cities where you can’t burn just anything.
A fire that fits the room
Wood, multi-fuel, gas and electric all come from the same place, so you pick the model your space suits before ever thinking about the fuel.

Stovax and Gazco installation and warranty requirements
Correct installation is written into the Stovax and Gazco warranty, which is why buying through an approved retailer like Burning Desires matters more than with most brands. Solid fuel appliances must be fitted to current Building Regulations by a suitably qualified installer – HETAS registered in England, or the equivalent elsewhere – with the certificate of installation and commissioning report completed and retained.
Gas appliances must be installed by a Gas Safe registered engineer. From there, cover depends on an annual service by a qualified engineer, chimney sweeping at least twice a year when burning wood or once a year on smokeless fuels, and burning only fuels on the HETAS-approved list. We arrange the installation, complete the paperwork and set the service schedule up with you at the point of sale.
Stovax & Gazco FAQs
They are sister companies within the Stovax Heating Group, which is part of the NIBE Stoves group. Stovax, founded in 1981, covers wood burning and multi-fuel appliances; Gazco, formed in 1988, covers gas and electric. The wider group also includes Yeoman, Onyx and FireFX, and Stovax distributes Dovre and Nordpeis in the UK and Republic of Ireland.
