What does a Planika flueless fire installation involve?
Bioethanol fireplaces need a suitable recess or casing and enough room volume and air supply for the burner. Room volume is usually the deciding factor: it sets the maximum burner size the space will take, which is why we survey before recommending a model rather than after.
Planika’s water vapour models run on mains power and need a water supply, either filled manually or plumbed in, plus some ventilation to disperse the mist. Plumbing it in costs more upfront and saves you refilling it.
Gas fires need a Gas Safe registered engineer, a gas supply sized for the appliance and, on some models, a flue. These are the only models in the range with a flue requirement.
Planika flueless fire FAQs
Planika’s bioethanol and water vapour fireplaces need no chimney, flue or liner. Bioethanol burns cleanly, producing no smoke or soot to vent, and water vapour models burn nothing at all. Both still require adequate room ventilation. Gas models are the exception – they need a gas supply and, depending on the model, a flue.
